2025 Goals Recap!

Hey Folks,

Thank you all for your continued support and check out what I have been able to accomplish this year:

1.  Monologues

   • I learned that people preferred a production over a person standing in front of a blank wall. So moving forward I’ll be adjusting this goal to have 4 videos each year under the “Simon Freitas Productions” youtube page (feel free to subscribe here - https://www.youtube.com/@SimonFreitasProductions )

2. Demo reel 

   • The film acting course I took with Broadway2LA really enhanced my understanding of the differences between being on stage versus on camera. You can find my final recording from their Demo Reel class here: https://youtu.be/dNzDdgbTQIk?si=kDVjFhSMz_urmYTD

   • I’m also working on a few other reels that will be posted on my socials in the next few weeks 

3. Improve IMDb rating - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm13255469/

   • 2025 Highest Rating: 277,915

   • Although I didn’t break 100,000 in 2025, here are some hot tips that will help you succeed using the site as an actor:

     1. Put your IMDb in your email signature

     2. Send your IMDb to local casting directors

     3. Post your IMDb link on social media or text it to your friends and family

     4. There are auditions on IMDb! #What? #Yes #Forrealsies

     5. You can control how many auditions you send out. You will never fully control your IMDb. Let go of the idea that you need a certain rating to be a successful actor.

4. Collaborating with more local OH artists on film project

   •  I KICKED A$$ WITH THIS GOAL!

   • So many projects. So many new friends. Also, I have been prioritizing projects in Columbus lately which has made it much easier to manage my pet sitting business. (animalhomellc.com)

   • Here are the projects I’m currently a part of:

     1. Legend of Zelda Fan Project

        • Voice Acting as the character of Wil

     2. Mental

        • I wrote this film and currently I’m finalizing the cast and crew. We will be shooting the last week of February and you can stay tuned on my social media to see how this project progresses,

     3. MadLabs - Theatre Roullette

        • I’ve been cast in 3 short plays that will be presented in the Spring of 2026. 

        • I’d been missing the theatre and felt that tit was time to get back to my roots as an actor. I’m excited to work with a local theatre here in Columbus Ohio and you can check out MadLab Theatre here - https://www.madlab.net/

For 2026, I’ve set some more easily attainable goals (10 blog posts in 2026 and 4 productions a year). I’ll be sure to keep you all in the loop of how they are coming along. If you’ve made it this far, thanks again and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
